Gonzalez, 87, went home to her eternal reward on Saturday, August 4, 2012, at Cocalico Christian Home, Denver. She was born in Lancaster County to the late John S. and Amanda (Horting) High and was the wife of the late Jorge L. Norat Gonzalez, Sr., with whom she shared 53 years of marriage before his passing in 2008. Emma was a member of Muddy Creek Mennonite Church, Denver. Emma is survived by six daughters, Anna Mary (James) Hoover of Ephrata, Miriam (Louis) Lauver of Lititz, Rachel (Anthony) Rivera, Sr. of Stevens, Naomi (Floyd) Halteman of Wrightsville, Ga., Martha (Gary) Schleifenheimer of Birdsboro, Esther (Kenneth) Garman of Stevens; son, Daniel (Orpha Lehman) Gonzalez of Denver; 23 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by four step daughters, Mirta (Pedro) Melendez of Puerto Rico, Hilda Matos of Charlottesville, Va., Norma Gonzalez of Stevens, Irma Bonilla of Lancaster; two step-sons, Joseph (Anna Mary Pfautz) Gonzalez of Reamstown, George Gonzalez, Jr. of East Dublin, Ga.; 13 step grandchildren; 30 step great- grandchildren; 12 step great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Lydia Martin and Mary Parbel both of Myerstown; four brothers, Melvin (Anna Zook) High of Donna, Texas, Christian High of Manheim, Luke (Mary Musser) High of Myerstown, and Jacob (Arlene Gehman) High of Mifflintown. In addition to her husband, Emma was preceded in death by a daughter, Ruth Gonzalez; grandson, Brent M. Halteman; step grandson, Pedro Bonilla; two sisters and five brothers. A viewing will be held on Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m., at the Pleasant Valley Mennonite Church, 140 Pleasant Valley Road, Ephrata. An additional viewing will be held on Wednesday, from 9 to 10 a.m. at the Church, followed by funeral services held at 10 a.m. Interment will take place in the adjoining church cemetery. Memorial contributions in Emma's memory may be made to Cocalico Christian Home. Arrangements by Stradling Funeral Homes, Inc., Akron/Ephrata.
