M. shabodeho@aol.com July 6, 2012, 8:56 pm Published in Lebanon Daily News on June 21, 2012 SEBRING, FL Ruth M. Grubb, 89 of Sebring, Fla., died June 14, 2012 at Good Shepherd Hospice. She was born in Palmyra, and graduated from High School in Annville, PA in 1940. Later in life she went on to nursing school. She married Kenneth Dale Grubb on December 6th, 1941 (the day before Pearl Harbor). While Ken was in WWII, Ruth worked in a packing house in California while he was stationed there and back to a shoe factory in PA when he went overseas. In 1946 they moved to Sebring, Fla., and became members of the Sebring Church of the Brethren. Ruth was a Deacon in the Church for 62 years and in May 2012 she received a lifetime Deacon award for her faithful service. In the past, she was also a Sunday School Teacher, Sunday School Superintendent, Delegate from her Church to their National Conference and Chairwoman of many committees. Throughout her life, Ruth has been a Girl Scout Leader, member of Junior Women's Club, President of the Sebring Women's Club, President of the Highlands County Republican Committee, Alternate Delegate from Florida to the Republican National Convention in 1988. She was a talented seamstress entering and winning awards for her quilts and pillows. Ruth was a loving and devoted wife to Ken (who preceded her in death), a wonderful mother, mother-in-law and grandmother. She is survived by her daughter, Cynthia M. (Lee) Condran of Annville, son, Dale W. (Lori) Grubb of Sebring, Fla.; grandchildren, Matthew Dale Grubb and Madison Taylor Grubb of Sebring, Fla; and a niece and nephews of PA. Services were held Tuesday at the Sebring Church of the Brethren. Burial followed at Lakeview Memorial Gardens. Memorials are requested to Sebring Church of the Brethren.
