He was the husband of Carol Smith. Born November 24, 1950 in Lebanon, the son of George J. and Ruth E. Helm, he graduated from Lebanon High School class of 1968. He retired from Pall Aerospace in New Port Richey, Fla. His nickname throughout his life was "Speed." He enjoyed working on fast cars and driving them and was a NASCAR fan. He played the saxophone and was a Jazzman. He loved motorcyles and classy cars and was an avid Steelers Fan. In addition to his wife, he is survived by brothers, Robert and wife Kay Helm of Harrisburg and Edward and wife Cathie Helm of Florida; sister, Carol and husband Thomas Batal of Lebanon; daughter, Kimberly and husband Matt Decker and granddaughters, Olivia and Laura Decker, all of Pittsburgh; and step daughters, Stephanie and Sheri Onorati of Florida. Services will held in Largo, Fla. on Sunday, September 2, 2012.
