M. shabodeho@aol.com August 4, 2012, 10:36 pm Published in Lebanon Daily News on July 20, 2012 PALMYRA Edwin M. Hickernell, 92, passed away Thursday, July 19, 2012, at Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, Hershey. He was the husband of Florence E. (Wagner) Hickernell. Born in Schaefferstown, on November 22, 1919, he was a son of the late Frank and Mabel Dissinger Hickernell. He worked for Textile Machine Works and retired from RCA of Lanca-ster. He served in the U.S. Army in WWII. He was a member of the Grace U.C.C. in Lebanon. He en-joyed horseback riding, hunting, fishing, and traveling. Together with his wife, Kathryn nee Balsbaugh, Edwin raised a close knit, loving family. In addition to his wife, Florence, he is survived by two daughters, Barbara, wife of Joseph Spear, and Kathleen, wife of Richard Marchegiani; a son, Ronald, husband of Mary; two brothers, Warren and Charles Hickernell; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Kathryn, to whom he was married 45 years. Funeral service Monday at 12 p.m. at Grace United Church of Christ, 1000 S. 5th Ave., Lebanon 17042. Viewing Monday morning from 11 a.m. to 12 noon at the church. Interment with military honors will be at Millbach Cemetery in Millbach.
