M. shabodeho@aol.com August 18, 2012, 8:29 pm Published in Lebanon Daily News on August 16, 2012 CORNWALL Russell Harold Hontz, 90, was called home by his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, August 14, 2012, at Cornwall Manor. He was the husband of A. Elizabeth Hubbard Hontz, who died in 2007. Born in Oneonta, N.Y., on May 29, 1922, he was the son of the late Freas W. and Josephine Peters Hontz. Russell attended Milton Hershey School and referred to himself as a "homeboy". He was a machinist for 32 years with the Fuller Company in Manheim and was also a U.S. Army veteran who served in WWII. Russell and Elizabeth moved to Water Works and it was here that they reared their family. He was a member of North Annville Bible Church and loved to golf, fish, help others, and spend time with his family, brothers, and sisters. Surviving are two sons, Charles Hontz and wife, Patricia of Hershey, and A. Steven Hontz and wife, Susan of Womelsdorf; a daughter, Linda D. Hontz of Jonestown; two brothers, Donald Hontz of Manheim and Frederick Hontz of Sunbury; four sisters, Lois Woods of Harrisburg, and Naomi Hockenbrough, Arlene Knepp, and Inez Campbell, all of Sunbury; four grandchildren, Christa Aplin, and Timothy, Michael, and Charles, Jr. Hontz; and five great-grandchildren, Grace Aplin, and Katherine, Ethan, Elliana, and Emily Hontz. Russell was preceded in death by five brothers, Paul, Roy, Homer, Carl, and Freas, Jr. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at the North Annville Bible Church, 4590 Hill Church Road, Annville. Interment will be held on Monday at 9:30 a.m. at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, E. Hanover Twp. Public viewing will be held Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Kreamer Funeral Home and Crematory, 618 E. Main St., Annville, and one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church.
