M shabodeho@aol.com September 1, 2012, 4:48 pm Published in Lebanon Daily News on August 29, 2012 PALMYRA John William "Banjo" Houtz, 77, formerly of Evergreen Road, died Monday, August 27, 2012, in the Palmyra Nursing Home. He was the husband of the late Sandra B. Houtz. John was born in Lebanon, on August 10, 1935, a son of the late William Gordon and Mary Meshok Houtz. He was a retired information specialist, having worked for PennDot for 33 years. He was a member of Hebron U.M. Church where he had served on the administrative board and was a former choir member. He was a past member of Local 750 AFOM and he played the banjo for many years. He is survived by a forever friend, Beverly A. Luci. Graveside services will be Thursday at 10 a.m. in the Mt. Lebanon Cemetery with the Rev. Rodney Miller officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hebron U.M. Church, Lebanon, Pa. The Rohland Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
