  Jain A. Hurd 
   
  CORNWALL Jain A. Hurd, 88, of Cornwall Manor and formerly of Wallingford and 
  Glenolden, passed away on Saturday, March 17, 2012, at the Health Center. Born 
  in Smyrna, Del., on October 11, 1923, she was the daughter of the late John J. 
  and Mary Elizabeth Armstrong Hurd. She graduated in 1942 from John Bassett 
  Moore High School and then attended Beacom College. Jain retired from FMC 
  Corp. in Philadelphia, where she had worked as an Executive Secretary. She was 
  a member of the Norwood United Methodist Church, and over the years she had 
  served in various offices. Always gracious, she was devoted to her family and 
  friends, enjoyed crafts, tole painting, stenciling, and traveling, She is 
  survived by her nephew, Rev. W. Matthew Whayland and his wife, Pamela of 
  Lebanon, and their daughters, Erin and Lindsey. She was preceded in death by 
  sisters, Mary Louise Whayland and Margaret Maloney, and her brother-in-law, 
  Howard C. Maloney. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, March 24, 2012, 
  at 11 a.m. at the Cornwall Manor Chapel, with the Rev. Glen Esler officiating. 
  Interment at a later date will be at the Odd Fellows Cemetery in Smyrna, Del.
