Jermon, Jr., 92, was called home to his heavenly Father on March 19, 2012, from his home in Mount Gretna. Born on October 28, 1919 in Philadelphia, to the late Robert and Irene Ployd Jermon, he is survived by his wife of 50 years, Janet Long Jermon; son, Robert and wife, Julie of Western Springs, Illinois; sister-in-law, Barbara Long; two nieces, Dr. Rebecca Long and Deborah Long Erb and husband Kenton; and six grandnieces and nephews. For several years he worked for DuPont in Niagara Falls, New York, before spending his remaining working life in the Research and Development Department of the former Atlantic Refining Company, later Arco Chemical Company. One of his greatest joys was a Bible study group which met weekly in the laboratory. He was a member for many years of the First United Methodist Church, Collingswood, New Jersey, where he served on the Administrative Board, as a helper in "God's Special Children's" class, and as an usher. Recently he became a member of the New Hope Bible Church, Lebanon. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at the New Hope Bible Church, 1000 State Drive, Lebanon, preceded by a visitation at 10 a.m. Interment will take place following the service at Mount Annville Cemetery, Annville.
