Keller, 88, formerly of Annville and Palmyra died Sunday June 3, 2012 in the Lebanon Valley Brethren Home, Palmyra. He was the husband of Elizabeth "Libby" Robinson Keller to whom he was married 45 years. Born in Koppel, PA on December 30, 1923, he was the son of the late Harry and Ida M. Smith Keller. He was a retired electrician from Local Union 143, Harrisburg. Al was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII who received 4 Bronze Stars serving with the 1277th Engineering Combat Battalion in Rhineland, Normandy, Eastern Europe, and Southern France. He was a graduate of Columbus High School, Columbus, Ohio and the Thompson Institute, Harrisburg. Al was a also a member of Gravel Hill United Methodist Church, Palmyra where he attended the A. D. Gruber Bible Class, and was a member of Mt. Lebanon Lodge #226, F.&A.M., Annville American Legion Post 559, and the Annville Union Hose Fire Company. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and a devoted husband and grandfather. Surviving in addition to his wife is a daughter Pamela Dunham of Camp Hill, two step-daughters Judy wife of Thomas Sheaffer of Mt. Gretna, Jean wife of Donald Mease of West Lebanon, a step-son James H. husband of Melanie Osborne of Palmyra, a sister Florence Post of Columbus, Ohio, 3 grandchildren, 10 step- grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and 19 step-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter Sharon Johnson and a brother Donald Douglas. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. from Gravel Hill United Methodist Church, 131 Gravel Hill Road, Palmyra, Pa 17078. Interment will be in Gravel Hill Cemetery, Palmyra with Full Military Honors. Viewing will be held on Saturday from 10-11 a.m. at the Church. Kreamer Funeral Home and Crematory, Annville is in charge of arrangements.
