Klinger, 87, formerly of Robesonia, passed away Tuesday, July 10, 2012 of natural causes at Messiah Village in Mechanicsburg. He was the husband of Ferne M. (Irving) Klinger, also a resident of Messiah Village. Born in Hegins, Schuylkill County, he was the son of the late Walter and Lydia (Maurer) Klinger. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII on a submarine. Franklin worked for ARCO Pipeline in Spring Twp. for 36 years retiring in 1984. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, New Kingstown, and was a former member of St. Paul's U.C.C., Robesonia. He was a Trustee of the Mount Lebanon Lodge #226, a life member of the Robesonia Fire Company, and a member of the V.F.W. Post #6666. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Kathy M. wife of Gifford Briner, Mechanicsburg and Lesley A. Klinger, Hummelstown; a sister, Jeanne Nichols, Wylie, Texas; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Services will be held Monday at 1 p.m. at Lamm & Witman Funeral Home, Inc., 243 W. Penn Ave., Wernersville, 19565, with Rev. Eric Funk officiating. Interment at Schuylkill Memorial Park in Schuylkill Haven. Friends are invited to call Monday from 12 noon to 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
