    LEBANON Elizabeth "Bessie" Mary Knier, 84, formerly of Newmanstown, died 
    Thursday, July 19, 2012, in Manor Care, Lebanon. She was born on April 23, 
    1928, in Millcreek Township, Lebanon County, a daughter of the late Lloyd and 
    Mary Gundrum Leed. She was employed at the former Caren Knitting Mill in 
    Robesonia and Saul Printing of Schoeneck. Bessie was a member of the 
    Independent Christian Church in Cocalico and enjoyed knitting and crocheting. 
    She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Norman "Norm" R. Knier of Lebanon; 
    sons, Emerson N., husband of Kathy Knier, and Earl H., husband of Julie Knier, 
    both of Newmanstown, Norman H. Knier of Missouri, and Robert L. Knier of Clay; 
    13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. 
    She was preceded in death by a son, Harry Knier; daughter, Diane Knier; and 
    grandsons, Timothy and James Knier. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 
    10:30 a.m. in the Clauser Funeral Home, N. Carpenter St., Schaefferstown, with 
    a viewing beginning on Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. Interment will be made in the 
    Schaefferstown Cemetery.
