  PALMYRA Myrtle Z. Koons, 83, died Friday, June 15, 2012, in Lebanon, at the 
  home of her son. She was the widow of Herbert E. Koons, who died January 14, 
  2000. Born in Derry Twp., on August 17, 1928, she was the daughter of the late 
  Edgar and Ruth (Patrick) Zern. She attended Lebanon Valley Bible Church 
  Lebanon, was an avid gardener, and enjoyed taking care of people. She is 
  survived by sons, Herbert E. Koons, Jr. of Greenbackville, Va., and Duane, 
  husband of Sheri Koons of Lebanon; grandchildren, Shelby, D.J., and Corey 
  Koons; three step grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sisters, Elizabeth 
  Bush of Manheim, Edith, wife of Carl Miller of Palmyra, and Joanne, wife of 
  Ronald Maulfair of Cleona; brother, Martin, husband of Nancy Zern of Palmyra; 
  and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by brothers, Samuel 
  and Harry Zern. Services will be held at the convenience of the family. 
  Memorial contributions may be made to the "Missionary Fund" of Lebanon Valley 
  Bible Church, Lebanon, Pa.  Grose Funeral Home, Myerstown, has been entrusted 
  with the arrangements.
