"Jim" Kreider, 63, formerly of Palmyra, died Friday, September 28, 2012, at his residence after fighting a courageous battle with cancer. He was the husband of Sharita S. (Shott) Kreider, to whom he would have been married six years on October 28, 2012. Born in Lebanon, on March 28, 1949, he was the son of the late William F. and Wanda (Snyder) Kreider. He was employed at W.L. Kreider Shoes Mfg. Co., Inc., Palmyra, and was employed by the state, working at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially watching the hummingbirds. He also enjoyed the beach, traveling, hunting, working outdoors, and was an avid sports fan. In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughters, Lisa, wife of Jarrod Adams of Jonesborough, Tenn., and Amy Hoover of Alexandria, Pa.; sons, Matthew, husband of Vicki Kreider of Stevens, and Daniel Kreider of New York; stepsons, Heath Wike, companion of Alisha Achenbach of Myerstown, and Dustin, husband of Andrea Wike of Newmanstown; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sisters, Lynn Kreider of Palmyra, Kimberly, wife of Jay Umble of Annville, and Michelle, wife of Victor Morgret of Annville; brothers, Thomas, husband of Cindy Kreider of Ocala, Fla., and Bradley, husband of Crystal Kreider of Northampton; one step grandson; a sister-in-law, Elsie Kreider of Bloomsburg; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, David Kreider. Services and interment will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Goodwill Fire Co., Myerstown, Pa. Grose Funeral Home, Myerstown, has been entrusted with the arrangements.
