Lefever, 76, passed away at Hospice of Lancaster County, Mount Joy on Monday, April 9, 2012 after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Manor Township, he was the son of the late Martin and Elizabeth Gerlach Lefever. He spent time working on his brother's farm before enlisting in the service. He was a United States Army veteran. Clair retired after 35 years as a supervisor at the former College Hill Poultry Inc., Fredericksburg. He had a passion for farming, which he did for fifty years. Clair was a member of Ruhl's United Methodist Church, Manheim. He enjoyed watching New York Yankees' baseball, collecting toy tractors and hunting. Clair also enjoyed spending time with his family and looked forward to family gatherings. Surviving are three children, a daughter, Elaine wife of Randy Rineer of Lancaster, a son, Wayne J. husband of Angie Sauder of Manheim and a daughter, Susan L. wife of Richard Suter of Millersville; eight grandchildren, Kyle, Joel, Shane, Joby, Grace, Renee, Rachel, Aaron; four great-grandchildren, Jayden, Lilly, Aubrey, and Sophie; two brothers, Ernest Lefever of Lancaster, John husband of Nora Lefever of Lititz; five sisters, Arlene Eshleman of Willow Street, Kathleen wife of Roy Brandt of Lancaster, Ruth Simpson of Lansdale, Gladys wife of Irvin Sensenig of Leola and Grace Houser of Lampeter. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Leon and Martin Lefever; two sisters, Fannie Mae Lefever and Edith Hess. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his funeral service at Ruhl's United Methodist Church, 4810 Elizabethtown Road, Manheim on Monday, April 16, 2012, at 11 a.m. with Pastors Rob Timlin and Wayne Achey officiating. Interment in the adjoining church cemetery. There will be a public viewing at the church on Sunday evening from 5 to 7 p.m. with an additional viewing time at the church on Monday morning from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
