  DALLASTOWN Betty Jane (Harpine) Light, 82, formerly of Palmyra, passed away 
  peacefully at Manor Care Dallastown, on Friday, February 3, 2012. She was 
  predeceased by her husband Isaac H. Light in 2002. She was born Sunday, April 
  21, 1929, in Palmyra, to the late Charles A. and Edith (Kline) Harpine. She 
  was a member of the Palmyra Church of the Brethren, where she also taught 
  Sunday school and sang in the choir. Betty loved to sing. She won several 
  competitions as a teenager and sang on the Showboat in Harrisburg. She enjoyed 
  painting, gardening, and reading, particularly Danielle Steel novels. She 
  collected teddy bears and had over 300 bears in her collection. Betty and her 
  husband fostered four infant children in addition to raising their own. She 
  was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She is survived by a daughter, 
  Karen Gentzler of Dover; a grandson, Aaron Gentzler and wife, Stacie of 
  Baltimore, Md.; and a granddaughter, Teresa Ardini and husband, Joseph of 
  Manheim. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a daughter, Marsha 
  E. Risser, and a brother, Robert A. Harpine. Funeral services will be held on 
  Tuesday, February 7, 2012, at 11 a.m. at Rothermel Funeral Home & Cremation 
  Services, Inc., 25 W. Pine St., Palmyra 17078 with the Rev. Sheresha Simpson-
  Rice officiating. Family and friends are invited for viewing from 10 a.m. 
  until time of the service. Burial will follow in Grandview Memorial Park, 
  Annville.
