M shabodeho@aol.com September 1, 2012, 3:02 pm Published in Lebanon Daily News on August 25, 2012 HERSHEY Lawrence Harvey Linebaugh, 89, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, August 23, 2012 surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Dorothy "Dolly" E. (Ebersole) Linebaugh. He was predeceased by his wife, Virginia A. (Stutzman) Linebaugh. He was born Thursday, August 2, 1923 in Palmyra, to the late Harvey C. and Martha (Rosenberger) Linebaugh. He graduated from Palmyra High School, served in the U.S. Army, 42nd Rainbow Division, during WWII, was a member of Gravel Hill United Methodist Church and Hershey VFW Post 3502. He retired from Hershey Foods, where he worked in the wrapping room with over 40 years of service. He enjoyed camping, line dancing and teaching line dancing at the senior center. He cherished his family and took every opportunity to attend sporting events to watch his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren participate. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Larry L. Linebaugh and wife Sandy L. of Cleona; a daughter, Jan M. Yost and husband Jeffrey A. of Hershey; six grandchildren, Jenni Gouley, Jaymi Strechay, Jennifer Linebaugh, Mark Linebaugh, Stacy Schmelzer, and Tim Zeiders; 12 great-grandchildren; one brother, Donald Linebaugh; and one sister, Delmay Holland. He was predeceased by a brother, Alvin Linebaugh. Funeral services will be held Monday, August 27th, at 11 a.m. at Gravel Hill United Methodist Church, 131 Gravel Hill Road, Palmyra 17078 with Rev. Douglas Smith officiating. Friends and family are invited for viewing from 10 a.m. until time of the service. Burial with full military honors, provided by Dauphin County Veterans Honor Guard, will follow in Gravel Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his honor to Gravel Hill United Methodist Church. Arrangements have been entrusted to Rothermel Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., Palmyra.
