Logan PALMYRA William David "Dave" Logan, 87, formerly of Plum, passed away peacefully on Easter Sunday, April 8, 2012, at the Fake House, Lebanon Valley Brethren Home, Palmyra. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Betty M. (Vyhnanek) Logan. He was born Saturday, May 24, 1924 in Middlesex Township, Butler County to the late John LeRoy and Esther Lydia (Coates) Logan. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, served during WWII in Northern Africa and Italy earning many decorations and citations including a Bronze Star and three Battle Stars. He lived and raised his family in Plum, retired after 35 years of service as a Transmission Engineer with Bell Telephone/AT&T, was a member of F&AM of PA, Past Master of Pittsburgh Lodge No. 484, Past Secretary of Plum Creek Lodge No. 799, and Chaplain of Plum AARP #3067. He enjoyed his 1930 Ford Model A, spending time working in his yard, and valued family time as a loving husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by two sons, Daniel D. Logan of North Highlands, Calif., and William J. Logan and wife Sherry of Elizabethtown; two grandchildren, Jonathan A. Logan of Reisterstown, Md., and Jennifer A. Callahan and husband Michael of Palmyra; one great-grandson, Clayton Coon. He was predeceased by a daughter-in-law, Beth Logan of Calif.; two brothers, John T. Logan of Woodford, Va., and Francis B. Logan of Plum; two sisters, Dorothy Harris of Glenshaw, and Audrey Simpson of Sarver. Family and friends are invited for viewing on Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Rothermel Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 25 W. Pine St., Palmyra with Masonic Services performed by Mount Lebanon Lodge No. 226 at 7 p.m. Funeral Services will be held Friday at 10 a.m. at Lebanon Valley Brethren Home, DiMatteo Worship Center, 1200 Grubb Road, Palmyra, PA 17078, with the Rev. Omar Zook officiating, with viewing from 9 a.m. until time of the service. Burial with full military honors will follow in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
