(Brown) Lutz, 65, died Thursday, August 9, 2012, in the Good Samaritan Hospital, Lebanon. She was the wife of Kenneth E. Lutz, who died August 24, 2011. Born November 5, 1946, in Myerstown, she was the daughter of the late Lester C. and Grace M. (Klick) Brown. She was a member of Tulpehocken U.C.C., Richland. She was a 1965 graduate of ELCO High School. Shirley was employed by the Steffy Shoe Company from 1965 to 1980. She then became a stay- at-home mom and later worked for Rays Food Service, Lebanon. She loved spending time with her family and received great joy from the time she spent with her grandchildren. She enjoyed playing bingo at the Avon Fire Company. She was also a great supporter of local fast pitch softball, which her husband and members of his family played, and she helped out in the refreshment stand at the Prescott Ballfield, now known as Lutz Family Field. She is survived by sons, Jeremy R. Lutz, husband of Rebecca L. of Bernville, and Ryan M. Lutz, fiance of Jessica L. Wentzel of Myerstown; grandchildren, Savannah N. Wentzel and Samuel J. Lutz; sisters, Geraldine M., widow of Harold Weiss of Newmanstown, and Betty J., wife of Jan D. Klaus of Richland; brothers, Kenneth C. Brown, husband of Shirley of Myerstown, and Donald G. Brown, husband of Barbara of Fredericksburg. She is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, and three aunts. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 14, 2012, at 12 p.m. from Grose Funeral Home, 358 W. Washington Ave., Myerstown. Viewing Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 11 a.m. until the time of service. Interment in Friedens Memorial Park, Myerstown. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Lebanon County, Myerstown, or GSH Dialysis, Lebanon, PA 17042.
