Lysakowski "Mr. Ed" or "Speed", 82, lost his courageous battle with cancer on Friday, May 11, 2012, in the Lebanon VA Medical Center with his three children by his side. He was born in Reading, on October 31, 1929, son of the late Charles and Mary Balthaser Lysakowski. He was a 1949 graduate of Reading Central Catholic High School and retired from the former Boyer Printing Co., Lebanon, after 38 years of service. He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served during the Korean conflict. Ed was a member of the Church of St. Cecilia, Lebanon, where he served as a Eucharistic Minister. He was a member of the Travelers Protection Agency, Friendship Fire Co., Annville Legion, Lebanon Senior Center, and an active volunteer at Linden Village. He was a very loving father and grandfather and received great joy from spending time with his family. His hobbies included bowling, volunteering, fishing, and pinochle, but he will be most remembered for his many years as a bingo caller. His grandchildren have wonderful memories of their grandpa, including the annual Fenwick Island vacations. He delighted in sharing jokes and stories with friends and family - his legendary sense of humor will be remembered. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his children, Debra and husband, William Peters of Reading, Donna and husband, Craig Schott of Annville, and Charles Lysakowski and wife, Kim of Orefield; and grandchildren, William and Susan Peters, James and Kristen Schott, and Tyler and Jenna Lysakowski. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Crone Lysakowski, and his sister, Kathryn Lysakowski. Friends and family are invited to Ed's viewing on Thursday evening from 6 to 8 pm in the Rohland Funeral Home, 508 Cumberland St., Lebanon. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday morning at 10 a.m. at The Church of St. Cecilia, 202 E. Lehman St., Lebanon. Interment will follow in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
