Edward "Ed" Maloy, Jr., 76, passed away while on vacation in Georgia on Wednesday, June 27, 2012. He was born in Atlantic City, N.J., son of Arnold and Margaret (Schaffer) Maloy. Mr. Maloy was a graduate of Camp Hill High School, received his AA from Potomac State College, and his BS and MS from West Virginia University in Industrial Engineering. Ed was inducted into the Academy of Industrial Engineering, WVU. He served his country in the United States Air Force. Ed began his employment in 1965 with the Hershey Chocolate Corporation as an Industrial Engineer and later moved to both the Y&S Plant and Reese Plant where he served as the Plant Manager. He retired in 1994 after serving as Vice President of Human Resources for Hershey Chocolate U.S.A. He was a former President of: Hershey Jaycees; Derry Township Republication Committee; Lancaster Chapter of Industrial Engineers; Hershey Region of the Antique Automobile Club of America; and the Hershey Rotary Club, where he was a Paul Harris Fellow. Other memberships include: St. Joan of Arc Church, Hershey; Keystone Area Council, Boy Scouts Of America; Toastmasters; Knights of Columbus; PA Society of Professional Engineers; Fellow, Institute of Industrial Engineers; a founding member of the Derry Township Senior Citizen People Mover; a founding member and board member of the Antique Automobile Club of America Museum; and member of Train Collectors Association. He was an avid Model Railroader and "Crew Chief" of the Roads to Rails exhibit at the AACA Museum in Hershey. Ed is survived by his loving wife, Rose Ann (Lewis) Maloy; two daughters, Lisa (Jay) Schirato and Ann (John) Gardiner, both of Hershey; two sons, Ted (Elaine) Maloy of Hershey and Patrick (Jessica) Maloy of Palmyra; and eight grandchildren. A visitation will be held Sunday, July 1, 2012, from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Hoover Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc. of Hershey. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, at 11 a.m. in the St. Joan of Arc Roman Catholic Church, 359 W. Areba Ave., Hershey. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Harrisburg. Hoover Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc. of Hershey is handling the arrangements.
