Meyer CLINTON, CT Doris Marie Westerholm Meyer, 83, formerly of Jonestown, loving wife and mother, died peacefully on Monday, January 2, 2012, after a long fight with Alzheimer's. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Robert W. Meyer, Sr.; two sons, Robert, Jr. and Craig; two daughters-in-law; four grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; one niece; one nephew; and a great- nephew and great-niece. She was predeceased by her daughter, Lois. Doris was born April 14, 1928, in Queens, N.Y., and graduated from Hofstra University, with a degree in philosophy. She was a devoted homemaker, a blue-ribbon quilt maker, and a member of the 1977 international championship Yankeemaids barbershop singing chorus of Stamford, Conn. She also was an avid reader, and enjoyed crossword puzzles, cats, and gardening. She loved making baby blankets for premature newborns as part of project LINUS. A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 14, at 2 p.m. at Peregrine's Landing, 91 E. Main St., Clinton, CT 06413.
