Miller, 91, died Sunday, March 25, 2012, at Loomis Village, South Hadley, Mass, although home for more than thirty years was "The Farm" near Bethel, and prior to that, Myerstown and Camp Hill. She was the wife of Dr. Carl S. Miller, who died November 6, 2005. Born in Glendora, N.J., on February 28, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Jay V. and Carrie (Magee) Seavers. A 1938 graduate of Hershey High School, she also graduated from Hershey Junior College in 1940, Lebanon Valley College in 1942, and the Drexel Institute, Philadelphia, in 1943. Lois was a homemaker and mother with a kind and generous nature. Throughout her life, she volunteered her time to those in need, especially the ill and infirmed. She was employed as a librarian at Temple University, Philadelphia, and was a member of Zion's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Jonestown, the Lebanon County Medical Society Auxiliary, the Good Samaritan Hospital (GSH) Women's Auxiliary, and was a GSH volunteer. She was a devoted daughter, wife, mother and grandmother with a lively sense of humor. She loved her books, music, her cat, Dickens, and she "never met a cheese" she didn't like. She is survived by a daughter, Deborah, wife of Dr. Robert Shriver of South Deerfield, Mass.; son, John Gregory Miller of San Jose, California; and grandsons, John and Thomas Shriver. She was predeceased by her sister, Carol L. Pettey in 2009. Funeral services will be held Friday, March 30 at 10 a.m. from Zion's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 103 E. Market St., Jonestown. Interment at Gravel Hill Cemetery, N. Londonderry Twp. Grose Funeral Home, Myerstown, has been entrusted with the arrangements.
