Moore, 78, passed away peacefully in his sleep Friday, March 2, 2012. He was the husband of Barbara S. Moore. Born in Lebanon on June 24, 1933, he was a 1951 graduate of Lebanon High School. He started working at the Lebanon Post Office as a sub in 1952 where he continued to work as a mail carrier until his retirement. He was known as "Mr. Wonderful" to all who knew him. He was a member of the National Assoc. of Letter Carriers. He was a Hershey Bears Hockey fan, liked playing cards, going to the shore, telling jokes, loved the Yankees, gave generously to others as well as many charities. He was a "Wonderful" brother and Uncle and devoted husband. He loved spending time with his nieces, nephews and family. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a sister, Carolyn M. D'Amore of Hershey, nieces and nephews, Angela and Steve Spitler of Lebanon, Shari and Rich Lewis of Hummelstown, Samuel Scott Moore of South Carolina, Richard Moore of Virginia, Patricia Moore of Virginia and great nieces and nephews, Derek and Deven Spitler and Brooks and Brynn Lewis. He is also survived by many cousins, great nieces and nephews and many in-laws nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Margaret I. (Little) and Samuel S. Moore, brother Joseph Moore and nephew, Carl Samuel Spitler (Peepy). Private Service and burial at the convenience of family at Holy Cross Cemetery on March 6, 2012. Samuel will be sadly missed by all who loved and knew him. Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. is entrusted with the arrangements.
