"Mac" Moyer, 90, passed away on Monday evening, May 21, 2012, of pancreatic cancer at Hospice of Lancaster County in Mount Joy. Born in Schaefferstown, she was the daughter of the late William H. and Franney Achey Moyer. She was a graduate of Schaefferstown High School where she played on the girls basketball team. Mac had worked for the RCA Corporation in Lancaster for over 25 years. During World War II, she repaired radios for the U.S. government. She had traveled across the United States, including Alaska and Hawaii. She volunteered at the Humane League of Lancaster County and ORCA, and had been honored for her 28 years of service to Meals On Wheels of Lancaster. Mac was well-respected in the local golfing community, enjoyed swimming, ice skating and skiing, and enjoyed music, especially the Lancaster Symphony Orchestra. She attended Bible studies at Lancaster Bible College. She cheered on the Penn State football team, attending several Rose Bowl games over the years. Mac will be lovingly remembered as an active, feisty, little lady. She is survived by her sister, Pauline Bingeman of Lititz; her brother, Franklin, married to Elizabeth Moyer of Schaefferstown; and by her many nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Eugene and Ralph Moyer; and by her sisters, Eleanor Kramer, Vernetta Kleinfelter, and Mollie Smith and companion, Ruth Lopes. A gathering of family and friends and a time of sharing will be held on Tuesday, May 29, 2012, at 3 p.m. at the Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
