Nelligan, 76, of Dauphin County, passed away Monday, January 9, 2012. Born May 6, 1935, in Harrisburg, he was the son of the late John E. and Margaret (Fesler) Nelligan, and was also preceded in death by son, Michael J. Nelligan, Sr. in 2010. Retired from AMP with 36 years of service, he was a member, choir member, and past president of the consistory of Faith United Church of Christ. Vice Chairman of East Hanover Township Board of Supervisors, he was currently serving as the Township Emergency Management Coordinator, president of the East Hanover Township Autumn Leaves, a member of the 209 Traffic Committee, and facilitator of the East Hanover Public Safety Advisory Council. His past service to the township includes the Planning Commission, Zoning Hearing Board, and he was Chief Engineer and Chief of the Grantville Volunteer Fire Company. A former member of the Board of South Central EMS, he was a fire instructor and instrumental in the planning of the fire training center at HACC. Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Carol A. (Miller) Nelligan; daughter, Linda, wife of Steve Sherlock of East Hanover Township; grandchildren, Kathleen Nelligan and Michael Nelligan, Jr., both of East Hanover Township, Andrew, husband of Amanda Sherlock of McKinney, Texas, and Adam Sherlock of Conshohocken; and a great-granddaughter, Calie Rose. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at Faith United Church of Christ, 117 N.
