  PALMYRA David J. Newmyer went to be with his Lord on August 25, 2012. He was a 
  son of the late G. Edward and Esther (Potteiger) Newmyer and was also preceded 
  in death by his sister Arlene Kanagy. He is survived by his loving wife Karen 
  E., of 45 years; son, William D. and wife, Martie L. Newmyer; daughter, Pamela 
  A. and husband, Michael J. Malloy; six grandchildren, Abby, Jillian, Tori, 
  Josh, Kenny and Nick; his beloved pet Gidget; brother, Edward Newmyer; and 
  several nieces and nephews. Dave retired from the International Union of 
  Operating Engineers Local 542, where he was an experienced backhoe operator. He 
  loved spending time with his grandchildren and enjoyed growing a vegetable 
  garden and maintaining a neatly trimmed lawn. A funeral service will be held 11 
  a.m. Thursday, August 30, 2012, at Buse Funeral Home, 145 N. Grant St., 
  Palmyra, preceded by a viewing from 10 a.m. Interment will be at the 
  convenience of the family in Gravel Hill Cemetery, Palmyra. In lieu of flowers, 
  contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society , Lebanon, Pa.
