O'Donnell, 89, born and raised in Lebanon, passed away Friday, March 2, 2012. He was a member of St. Catherine Laboure Catholic Church. Jim retired from the Pa. State Police, with the rank of Captain, after 30 years of service, and was a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII, where he served with the Submarine Forces from 1942 to 1948. He was a member of the Pa. State Troopers Association, the retired State Troopers Association, Keystone Lodge # 41 Fraternal Order of Police, and the Pa. Association of Retired State Employees. He was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Bernadette (Lazorcik) O'Donnell in 2004; his parents, Charles and Rose O'Donnell; brother, Charles O'Donnell; sisters, Gladys and Elsie O'Donnell; and a granddaughter, Emily Schuster in 2006. Surviving are three children, Anne Schuster, husband, Robert, of Malvern, Timothy O'Donnell, wife, Maria, of Harrisburg and Joseph O'Donnell, wife, Andrea, of Chester, N.J.; nine grandchildren; two great grandchildren; a sister, Christine Wall, of Robesonia; and many nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:15 a.m. Friday in St. Catherine Laboure Catholic Church, 4000 Derry St., Harrisburg. Burial will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. A viewing will be held 10 a.m. Friday at the church till time of service.
