Phalen LAWN Donald Gene Phalen, 82, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 2, 2012, in Community General Osteopathic Hospital, Harrisburg. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Naomi (Fleck) Phalen. He was born Friday, February 21, 1930, in Yorkville, Ohio, to the late John L. and Irene (Taylor) Phalen. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, served as a professional fireman for 10 years in Arlington, Va., and retired as a House Parent for the Milton S. Hershey School after 28 years of loyal service. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and loved spending time with his family. He is survived by two daughters, Susan D. Kylor and husband, David of Lawn, and Donna I. Stevey and husband, Brian of Lebanon; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and three brothers, William, Harry, and James Phalen. He was predeceased by a brother, John Phalen. A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 12, 2012, at 1 p.m. at Rothermel Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 25 W. Pine St., Palmyra 17078. Family and friends are invited for visitation from noon until time of the service. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
