  PALMYRA John D. Sandy, 85, passed away Tuesday, February 28, 2012, at his 
  home. Born July 17, 1926, in Grantville, he was a son of the late John Sandy 
  Sr. and Verna M. (Yorty) Sandy. Retired as maintenance manager from Lebanon 
  County Penn DOT, he was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church, 
  Grantville, Brownstone Masonic Lodge F. & A. M. #666, Harrisburg Consistory 
  and Shrine, Palmyra American Legion #72, and East Hanover Autumn Leaves. A 
  U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II, he enjoyed genealogy and hunting. Surviving 
  are his wife, Janet C. (Chamberlin) Sandy; sons, Kenneth E. Dunbar of 
  Midlothian, Virginia and Carl W. Dunbar of West Ocean City, Md.; daughter, 
  Laura L. Hertzog of Elizabethtown; brothers, Harold Y. Sandy of Bowie, Md., 
  and Paul R. Sandy of Annville; sisters, Romaine I. Croyle of O'Fallon, Ill., 
  and Dianna L. Frey of Mount Joy; nine grandchildren; and one great-
  granddaughter. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, March 3, 2012, 
  at his church, 165 Firehouse Road, Grantville preceded by a viewing from 1 
  p.m. A Masonic service will be conducted at 12:30 p.m. Saturday at the church. 
  Interment will be in Grantville Cemetery.
