  Nellie E. Shutter 
   
  PALMYRA Nellie Eleanor (Carpenter) Shutter, 80, passed away peacefully on 
  Tuesday, April 3, 2012, at the M.S. Hershey Medical Center. She was 
  predeceased by her loving husband, LaVerde N. Shutter, in 1987. She was born 
  Wednesday, April 8, 1931, in Rexmont, to the late Walter and Katherine (Wolfe) 
  Carpenter. She was the owner and operator of Shutters Bar in Palmyra, a member 
  of the Hershey American Legion, and she loved animals with endless compassion. 
  She was a caring soul and lived her life full of love and smiles. She is 
  survived by a niece, Sharon Horst and husband, James of Schaefferstown; great-
  niece and nephew, Dr. Julie Horst of Connecticut and James Horst of 
  California; and many special neighbors, friends, and loved ones she considered 
  part of her family. She was predeceased by a brother, Walter Carpenter; a 
  sister, Peg Brandt; a nephew, Ronald Carpenter; and faithful K9 companion, 
  Lucky. Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 7, 2012, at 11 a.m. at 
  Rothermel Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 25 W. Pine St., Palmyra 
  17078 with Father James F. Podlesney officiating. Family and friends are 
  invited for viewing from 10 a.m. until time of the services. Burial will 
  follow in Mt. Annville Cemetery, Annville.
