Simpson, 66, of 306 N. 7th St., died Tuesday, March 20, 2012, in the Lebanon VA Medical Center. Born in Lebanon, on March 4, 1946, he was the son of the late Michael and Cecelia Brannigan Simpson. He was employed as a psychiatric certified nursing assistant at the Lebanon VA Medical Center for 28 years. Joseph was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam War and a 1964 graduate of Lebanon Catholic High School. He was a member of the Lebanon Mannechoir Club and the Lebanon VFW Post 23. Surviving are two daughters, Michelle L., wife of Joseph S. Connor of Annville, and Melissa A., wife of Steven M. Schappell of Yokahama, Japan; four grandchildren, Adam, Noah, and Eoin Connor, and Jacob Schappell; brothers, Thomas Simpson of Lebanon, and twin brother, Patrick Simpson of Carlisle; and a friend, John A. Miller of Lebanon. He was preceded in death by a brother, Michael Simpson, and a sister, Patricia Principe. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, March 26, at 12:30 p.m. from Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 2 N. 8th St., Lebanon. Interment will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery with full military honors. Viewing will be held on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Kreamer Funeral Home and Crematory, 618 E. Main St., Annville.
