Stanson, 70, of 308 Ridge Road, died Friday, May 18, 2012, in the Good Samaritan Hospital, Lebanon. He was the husband of Doris M. Wonderling-Stanson.Born in New York City, N.Y., on August 25, 1941, he was the son of the late George and Lula Stamboulis Stanson. Greg graduated in 1959 from Own J. Roberts High School, in 1963 from Lebanon Valley College, and received his Master's in Education from the University of Toledo. After graduating from college, he began his career teaching at Hershey High School for two years before beginning his 40 year career at Lebanon Valley College. His appointments were Assistant Dean of Admissions, Dean of Admissions, Dean of Student Services, and finally Vice-President of Student Services before his retirement. While at LVC, he served on the High Industries Scholarship Board, the Hugh O'Brian Scholarship Board, the Alumni Award Committee, and the Big 33 Scholarship Committee. In 2008, he received the Alumni Citation and in October 2009 the newest residence hall, Stanson Hall, was dedicated to him. Greg was a member of Palm Lutheran Church, Palmyra, where he served on the Church Board. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are two daughters, Kathryn E. (Stanson), wife of Todd Elliott of Lebanon, and Amy L. (Stanson), wife of Jason Bucks of Lawn; two stepdaughters, Cynthia L., wife of Douglas Turnbull of Beaufort, S.C., and Susan L., wife of Steven Alger of Campbelltown; a stepson, Robert C., husband of Kristin Wonderling of Lederach; four grandchildren, Ellie Bucks, Wyatt Bucks, Parker Bucks, and Kyle Elliott; eight stepgrandchildren, Megan Raub, Rebecca Drury, Brooks Alger, Hollis Alger, James Alger, Samuel Wonderling, Mark Wonderling, and Benjamin Wonderling; four step great- grandchildren; and two brothers, Peter Stanson of Santa Barbara, Calif., and Leon, husband of Sally Stanson of Pottstown. Celebration of Life services will be held on Saturday, May 26, 2012, at 3 p.m. from Miller Chapel at Lebanon Valley College, East Sheridan Ave., Annville. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family in Mt. Annville Cemetery. No viewing or visitation. Kreamer Funeral Home and Crematory, Annville, was in charge of arrangements.
