M. shabodeho@aol.com October 14, 2012, 11:21 pm Published in Lebanon Daily News on September 25, 2012 HUMMELSTOWN Ethel Terris, 91, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, September 22, 2012. Born in Lebanon on January 5, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Jno and Mary Demas Terris. Ethel retired in 1985 from the Mechanicsburg Navy Depot as a clerk typist, and was also previously employed by the former Olmsted Air Force base during World War II doing sub assembly. She was a member of the St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Middletown since 1955. Ethel was a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees, and the Mohler Center where she participated in their painting class. She was a longtime member of the Middletown Swim Club. She was very artistic and especially passionate about oil painting. In addition to her parents, Ethel was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Terris; a sister and brother-in-law, Elizabeth and Frederick Eurich; and a sister and brother-in- law, Mary and Melvin Sadler. Ethel is survived by George Terris and Ann Patimos both of Washington, D.C.; and Anastasia Politi of Greece. Funeral services will be held Sunday, September 30, 2012, at 1 p.m. in St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Spring and Union Sts., Middletown, with The Rev. Dr. Richard Eckert, officiating. Trefz & Bowser Funeral Home, Inc., 114 West Main Street, Hummelstown, is handling the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, Washington D.C., or to the Susquehanna Service Dogs, Harrisburg, Pa.
