She was a loving wife of 54 years to her surviving husband John A. Waldhausen. She was a gifted, creative woman who brought love into the lives of all whom she touched. Raised in Baltimore, Md., she attended the Calvert School, The Bryn Mawr School and Wheaton College. She met the love of her life at Johns Hopkins Hospital and found happiness in Weymouth, N.J., on a farm in Annville, and at a lake in New Hampshire, where her family gathered every summer. She was the embodiment of grace and elegance. She had a deep inner strength both physical and emotional. She could move stones to build a wall and move mountains to protect her beloved family as she was completely devoted to them. She loved her dogs and treated them like royalty. She enjoyed poetry, painting and gardening. She once taught first grade, helped build a medical center, and rejoiced in her creation of and appreciation for all things beautiful. She will be deeply missed by those left behind. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her sons and their wives, John H.T. and Julie, Robert R., and A. Gordon S. and Sherry Waldhausen; and her grandchildren, Tessa, Liesl, Cole, Neil and Henry.
