Walker, 63, passed away peacefully Monday, September 3, 2012, at his residence surrounded by his loving family after being diagnosed with brain cancer. He was the husband of Jean (Strangarity) Walker. Born in Lebanon, on December 1, 1948, he was a son of the late Ralph and Mary (Howard) Walker. Tom worked most recently as an accountant for the Mount Joy Wire Company until his retirement in 2011. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He was a member of St. Mary's Church in Lebanon and the Marion Township Rod and Gun Club. He enjoyed fishing, bike riding, walking, model trains and was an avid Penn State football fan. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Steve of Wilmington, Delaware; a brother, Jim Walker and his wife, Linda, of Lebanon; and a nephew, Joe Walker and his wife, Jennifer, also of Lebanon. Tom was preceded in death by a nephew, David. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday at 10 a.m. from St. Mary's Church, 2 N. 8th St. Lebanon, 17046. Interment with full military honors will take place at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery in Annville. Viewing hours will be held Friday morning from 9 to 10 a.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association, Harrisburg, PA. Thompson Funeral Home, Inc., is entrusted with the arrangements.
