M shabodeho@aol.com March 3, 2012, 9:20 pm Published in Lebanon Daily News on February 29, 2012 Gerald N. Walmer FONTANA Gerald N. Walmer, 66, passed away on Sunday, February 26, 2012, at the M.S. Hershey Medical Center. He was the husband of Theresa S. Cabot-Walmer. Born in Fredericksburg on January 30, 1946, he was the son of the late Ralph A. and Ruth Emerich Walmer and a step-son of the late Helen E. Bechtel Walmer. He worked for the Harrisburg News Co., where he was the Merchandising Supervisor. He was the first Executive Director of COLT and was the President of the Cedar Hill Cemetery Association. Gerald was a U.S. Navy Veteran of the Vietnam Conflict. He was a big fan of the Atlanta Braves, the Oakland Raiders, Penn State and was also a Civil War enthusiast. He enjoyed the outdoors and especially spending time with his grandchildren. In addition to his wife he is survived by his sons, Loren A. husband of Lori Walmer of Allentown, Brian G. husband of Laura Walmer of Quincy, Calif., and Eric R. Walmer of Fremont, Calif.; daughters, Ruth E. wife of Reed Jacobs of Kaysville, Utah, Lisa M. wife of David Moschetti of Denver, Colo., Janie L. Carff-Hawley and her husband Richard of Syracuse, Utah, and Julia D. wife of Jason Hanson of Perham, Minn.; stepdaughters Tara Frascati of Catonsville, Md., and Natalie wife of Aaron Henning of Lititz; brother, Galen M. husband of Joan Walmer of Jonestown; 23 grandchildren and nephews, Jeremy and Christopher Walmer. He was preceded in death by his step-mother. Funeral services will be held on Saturday beginning at 10 a.m. at the Kreamer & Lum Funeral Home & Crematory, Rt. 72 & Camp Meeting Rd., Jonestown. Viewing will be held on Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. No viewing on Saturday. Interment will be at the Cedar Hill Cemetery, Fredericksburg.
