Wentling, 95, died Thursday, May 24, 2012, in the Lebanon Valley Home, Annville. She was the wife of Oliver R. Wentling, who died in 1992. Born in Annville, on May 9, 1917, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Carrie Ziegler Longenecker. She was a Registered Nurse who worked private duty in Lancaster, at the Lebanon Sanitorium in the Operating Room and Maternity, and also in the Lebanon offices of Dr. John R. Groh, Dr. William Shaver, and Dr. Earl Snyder. Esther was a 1935 graduate of Annville High School and the Lancaster General Hospital School of Nursing in 1938. She was a member of the Annville Church of the Brethren where she served as a Deacon, taught Sunday school, sang in the Choir, and was the representative to the Annville Council of Churches. She was also involved in scouting as a den mother and in 1956 was the camp nurse at Camp Bashore. Surviving are three sons, David J., husband of Pamela Wentling of Annville, Michael R., husband of Theresa Wentling of Annville, and Robert O., husband of Sally Wentling of Cleona; a brother, Wilbur Longenecker and wife, Pearl of Annville; nine grandchildren, Michael, L., Robert, Jr., Matthew, Nathan, Patrick, and Jonathan Wentling, Amy Raegner, Elizabeth Harnarine, and Carrie Wentling; and eight great-grandchildren, Daniel, Joshua, Luke, and Dominic Wentling, Lillian Raegner, Ava Wentling, Sarah Wentling, and Sophia Wentling. She was preceded in death by two brothers, John and Mark Wentling; and a sister, Helen Foltz. Memorial services will be held on Tuesday at 4 p.m. from the Annville Church of the Brethren, 495 E. Maple St., Annville, PA 17003. Interment will be held in South Annville Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 2:30 to 4 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Kreamer Funeral Home and Crematory, Annville, is in charge of arrangements.
