M. shabodeho@aol.com July 15, 2012, 4:24 pm Published in Lebanon Daily News on June 27, 2012 HUMMELSTOWN Patricia E. Whisler, 73, passed away on Monday, June 25, 2012, at her home. Born January 22, 1939, she was daughter of the late Henry P. and Ethel J. (Whitman) Keller. Patricia was retired from the PA Department of Public Welfare and had been the president of Ladies Auxiliary of Lebanon V.F.W. for 4 years, was a volunteer at the Lebanon VA Medical Center, and participated in re-enactments of WWII events. She rescued horses, dogs, and other strays, raced horses at Penn National, showed Himalayan cats, owned The East Coast Arabian Halter Gelding which was champion 4 years in a row, and enjoyed shopping for purses, working in her flower garden, and eating chocolate. Surviving are her husband, Terry Whisler; a daughter, Leesa Wright; two sons, Stephen Allwein and Timothy Allwein; a sister, Deborah Bishop; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; several nephews and cousins. Patricia served as a friend, mentor, and loving wife and mother. A memorial service will be held Monday, July 2, 2012, 12 p.m., at Zimmerman-Auer Funeral Home, 4100 Jonestown Road, Harrisburg, PA. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Central Pennsylvania, Harrisburg, Pa.
