M shabodeho@aol.com September 1, 2012, 5:00 pm Published in Lebanon Daily News on August 31, 2012 COLUMBIA Eugene "Pappy" Williams, 85, passed away on Wednesday, August 29, 2012, at Conestoga View. He was the husband of Gwendoline A. Goody Williams, with whom he celebrated their 47th wedding anniversary on March 28, 2012. He was born in St. Louis, Mo., son of the late Paul and Edith Karsnitz Williams. He was a coal miner, having worked at the #4 mine, Cornwall, and was a maintenance worker at Community Homes, Lebanon. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in the South Pacific during WWII. He enjoyed working around the house, gardening, and his family - especially his grandchildren. He was the last of his immediate family. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are two daughters, Wendy E. Howard of West Hempfield Twp. and Kathy M. (Jason) Martin of Arkansas; two stepsons, Terrance L. (Rose) Huffman of South Carolina and Robert L. Huffman of Lebanon; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Private services will be held for the family. Please omit flowers. Contributions may be made in his memory to the Alzheimer's Association, Harrisburg, Pa.
