    JONESTOWN Evelyn Yordy, 83, passed away surrounded by her loving children on 
    Sunday, July 8, 2012, at the home of her daughter with whom she resided. She 
    was the wife of John M. Yordy, who passed away in 2005. Born in Frystown on 
    October 9, 1928, she was the daughter of the late John and Dorothy T. Weaver 
    Batz. During WWII, she worked at the Keystone Macaroni factory in Lebanon. 
    After marriage, Evelyn worked side by side with her dear husband on the family 
    farm. She especially enjoyed gardening, baking, and cake decorating, and loved 
    flowers and babies. She was dearly loved and will be sadly missed. Surviving 
    are three sons, Terry M. Yordy of Jonestown, Randy A. Yordy of Grantville, and 
    Roger D. Yordy, husband of Theresa, of Jonestown; four daughters, Doris L. 
    Solmiren, wife of the late Cipriano Solmiren, of Tacoma, Wash., Nancy E. 
    Ritchie, wife of the late Gary Ritchie, of Jonestown, Peggy J., wife of Paul 
    Bowman, of Kailua Kona, Hawaii, and Brenda J., wife of Gerald Good, of 
    Grantville; brothers, Donald Batz and wife Marie of Chuckey, Tenn., and Mark 
    Batz of Jonestown; as well as 19 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. She 
    was preceded in death by two brothers, Frances and Kenneth Batz; and two 
    sisters, Verna Weller and Shirley Shutt. Funeral services will be held on 
    Monday, July 16, 2012, at 10 a.m. at the Kreamer & Lum Funeral Home & Crematory 
    at Rt. 72 & Camp Meeting Road, Jonestown, 17038. Interment will be in 
    Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. Viewing will be held on Sunday from 4 to 6 
    p.m. at the funeral home.
