DOD: December 25, 1905 "George W. Romig" 1825-1905 George W. was a resident of Lebanon since 1858, having come here from Lincoln, Lancaster County, Pa. He served in the Civil War, with distinction having fought the battles of his country for four years and five months. During that memorable conflict, serving two enlistments. He belonged to the famous regiment of "Bucktails", and was noted for his valor and daring when in his prime. He belonged to the G.A.R. here, and that organization will have charge of his funeral. He is to be buried at Mt. Lebanon Cemetery. He leaves three children, W. H. Romig, Samuel Romig, of Lebanon, and Mrs. Annie Howard, of Gloninger. His wife pasted away, a year previous.
