TWO YOUNG MOTHERS CALLED BY DEATH.

Mrs. R. J. Coover and Mrs. F. I. Reber Called From the Bed of Motherhood 
into Eternity - Sad Partings of Those Whose Lives had to be Sacrificed.

OTHER DEATHS

  The grim reaper of death has no mercy for loved ones and by its onward 
march the flowers of manhood are picked from the family circle and deposited 
in the little cities of the dead.  Of late Myerstown has been exceptionally 
unfortunate and today two young mothers are cold in death, having sacrificed 
their lives for new-born's and in both instances their absence will be 
keenly felt by the respective husbands, son and friends.  It is a sad week, 
indeed, and in the deaths of these two mothers, Mrs. R. J. Coover and Mrs. 
Frank L. Reber, the community mourns with those who are saddest in these 
hours of anguish.

MRS. F. L. REBER

  The home of Mr. F. L. Reber, cashier of the Richland National Bank, and 
citizen of this place, was saddened by the death of his estimable wife on 
Wednesday morning.  Mrs. Reber had been in ill health for several days due 
to Cardiac Asthenia and acute Brights disease.  Her ending hence is a sad 
blow on the husband and the little son, Harry, besides her parents, Rev. and 
Mrs. John Herr, one sister, Lizza(?) and three brothers Henry, of Lebanon; 
Jacob, principal of the Commercial department at Elizabethtown College and 
John, of this place.
  The funeral will take place on Sunday morning at 9.30 o'clock; from the 
family home on South Railroad street.  Services will be conducted in the 
Tulpehocken (Royers) German Baptist Meeting House, and interment made on 
cemetery adjoining.
  Rev. Isaac W. Taylor of Voganville, Lancaster County and Rev. William H. 
Oberholtzer of this place will officiate.
  Mrs. Reber was very popular and took a deep interest in the German Baptist 
denomination, of which her father, Rev. John Herr, is recognized as one of 
its most prominent leaders clergymen.

MRS. F. L. REBER

  The funeral of Mrs. F. L. Reber took place from the family home on Sunday 
forenoon.  A short service was conducted at the house and thereafter the 
cortege, comprising about 500 people, proceeded to Heidelberg (Royer's) 
Meeting House, where the last sad rites were spoken.
  The edifice was unable to accommodate the large assemblage, the main room 
was practically filled by friends who preceded the funeral.  Room for the 
immediate relatives was made and the remaining friends filled the school 
house adjoining where services likewise were conducted, however, this 
building was filled and many could not enter.  It is estimate that over 
1,000 persons were in attendance.
  The service in the meeting house was conducted by Rev. Isaac W. Taylor, of 
Vogansville, Lancaster Co., and Rev. W. H. Oberholtzer, this place.  Both of 
whom selected as their text Job 16.22, also Job 17:11.15.  The former 
speaking in the English and the latter in the German language.  The sermons 
in the school house were delivered by Rev. J. G. Francis, of Lebanon, and 
Rev. J. L. Royer, of Richland, speaking in the English and German languages 
respectively.  Their text being recorded in I Corinthians 15:1.15.
  Interment was made on the cemetery adjoining the church.
  The pallbearers were Samuel Behney, David Layser, Samuel Wenger and Peter 
Phillippy.
  Refreshments were served to 226 persons at the Crouse House, John Gockley, 
proprietor.
  Relatives and friends from great distances were in attendance.
