It appears that Mr. Gibble, the owner of the machine, was engaged in threshing wheat for Mr. Rutter, the machine standing on the second floor of the barn when the accident occurred. As the young man walked from the machine to the straw mow he took a short cut over the feeding board of the machine, slipped and fell into the revolving machinery which at the time was running at high rate of speed, and had his legs caught. Before he could be extricated from his position, the limbs had been crushed, a terrible sight being presented to bystanders. Dr. L. R. Light, of Jonestown, and Dr. J. W. Walter, of Lebanon were called and promptly responded, but the young man had lost too much blood and was beyond medical aid. Myerstown Enterprise, September 4, 1908
