Well Known Young Attorney Expired Last Night. J. Victor Smith, esq., died at the home of his father, Alderman David C. Smith, East Cumberland street, last night, after a prolonged illness. Deceased was a young man possessing fine intellectual attainments. He graduated from the Lebanon High school, after which he was engaged as a newspaper reporter in this city for some time. After relinquishing this avocation he read law with Gen. J. P. S. Gobin and subsequently became a student in the Carlisle law school. After his admission to the Lebanon county bar he soon enjoyed a good practice on account of his energy and close attention to the profession. Deceased was a member of the First Reformed church and of Camp 254, P. O. S. of A. Besides his father, he is survived by a sister, Miss Maud Smith, residing at home. He was aged about 27 years.
