He had been dead for some hours. His skull was fractured, and an arm broken, with numerous contusions about the body. The bank over which he fell is forty feet high. When the body was first found, it was thought that murder had been committed, but a search of the pockets showed his watch, wallet, revolver, knife and other valuables intact, and it is generally accepted that he met his death by accident in the manner described.
