AMELIA STINE Mrs. Amelia Stine, the esteemed wife of Sheriff Reuben Stiles, passed from the partial sleep in which she had lain over a week into the deep sleep of death on Christmas evening, at 5:50 o'clock, just as the light of day had faded into darkness and the glimmering stars began to appear. On Tuesday evening a week ago Mrs. Stine had an attack of paralysis of the brain, from the effects of which she became unconscious and she remained in this condition most of the time until the angel of death came and forever closed her eyes to all earthly scenes. Deceased was a daughter of ex-Register William Behney, of Union township, and was married to Reuben Stine, April 14, 1878, She was an estimable wife and mother, a kind neighbor and friend and a faithful member of the Lutheran church, at Jonestown. She had been ailing for about six months but her death has cast a deep gloom upon that home as the father and son, as well as the employees of the prison, were greatly attached to her. Her husband and a son, Harry, aged 17 years, survive her. Also a sister, Mrs. Wm. Desh, residing on Lehman street, this city, and a brother, Adam Behney, of East Hanover. She was aged nearly 39 years. The funeral services will be held on Saturday morning, at 11 o'clock, at the sheriff's residence, in the jail building, South Eighth street, and at 1 o'clock the funeral will be conveyed over the Lebanon and Tremont railroad to Jonestown, where services will be continued in the Lutheran church. Interment will be made at the Lutheran cemetery of that place. Lebanon Daily News, December 26, 1895
