MRS. KATE M. SWOPE

  The funeral of Mrs. Kate M. Swope, wife of Abraham B. Swope, of Eighth and 
Guilford streets, was held at 1 o'clock this afternoon, from the residence 
of Adam P. Swope, 539 North Eighth street.  Brief and impressive services 
were conducted at the house and afterward Rev. I. Calvin Fisher officiated 
at the services held in St. Mark's Reformed church.  A large number of 
mourners followed the cortege to Kimmerling's church cemetery, where 
interment was made.
  As the body reposed in its handsomely appointed casket, which was 
surrounded by a profusion of floral pieces, the tributes of sorrowing 
relatives and friends, it was viewed by hundreds of people, who thus paid 
their last tribute of love and respect to their departed friend.  The 
services were largely attended.
