Wendling [ca 1837 -September 1895] Died at Jonestown. Abraham S. Wendling, aged 58 years, of Jonestown, died Tuesday night, at 11 o'clock, at his home, of consumption, consequent to a complication of disease, after an illness of nine months. Deceased was a tobacconist and had an enviable war record, having served in Co. B, 173rd Pennsylvania regiment, during the rebellion. He was prominent among his townsmen, having been elected to the borough council and school board on several occasions, being a member of the latter board at the time of his death. A wife and two children, Oliver M. Wendling, and Mrs. David Heilman, all of Jonestown, survive him. He will be buried in the Lutheran cemetery on Saturday afternoon.
