DEATH OF JOHN ZUG

  Mr. John Zug, residing on his farm near the Narrows, died on Thursday of 
last week from dropsy and general debility.  Deceased was aged 78 years and 
had been ailing for sometime.  He is survived by one daughter Miss Lizzie 
and two sons, Ephraim and Rev. Benjamin Zug.  The two former residing at the 
family home and the latter living a short distance south of this place.  The 
funeral took place on Monday morning.  Services were conducted at Heidelberg 
Meeting House by Revs. John Herr and Wm. Oberholtzer.  Interment was made on 
cemetery adjoining church.  Deceased was a prominent member of the German 
Baptist denomination and his popularity occasioned a large funeral.  His 
wife preceded him in death about 5 years ago.
