We are indebted to merchant J. H. Muth, of South Railroad street for the 
following interesting death record.  The record gives the dates of persons of 
town and the immediate vicinity who passed this life during the year 1905 and 
also whether buried in or near this place.  Another report is also given of the 
number of deaths which occurred in and near Myerstown during the past 10 years.

During the past ten years 557 deaths occurred.  The number by years is as 
follows:  in 1895, 56; 1896, 64; 1897, 61; 1898, 41; 1899, 54; 1900, 39; 1901, 
49; 1902, 55; 1903, 42; 1904, 51; 1905, 45.  The largest number of deaths in one 
year was 61 in 1897 and the smallest number was 39, in 1900.
